Winklbauer Takes First at Shannon Henretty Invitational, Mustangs Second

STEVENSON, Md. - Stevenson women's cross country junior Kelly Winklbauer finished first-place overall for the second-straight year at the Shannon Henretty Invitational, held at the Greenspring Campus course. Winklbauer's 6k (3.73 miles) time of 23:38, which was 18.8 seconds faster than second-place Leanne Weaver of Messiah, helped lead the host Mustangs to second place overall in the team standings with a score of 47. 

Sophomore Achol Odolla took fifth overall with a solid time of 25:12.73, while sophomore Cassandra Morris finished 10th in her first collegiate race with a time of 25:43.27. 

Freshman Emily Gates finished less than a second behind Morris and in 11th place with a 25:44.07. 

Completing the team score for Stevenson was freshman Allison Krahe, who crossed the line in 27:05.19. 

Freshman Chloe O'Hara completed the course in 27:59.55, while juniors Kayla Bias and Mary Sam finished back-to-back with times of 28:14.33 and 28:14.63, respectively.

Messiah won the team title with 24 points.

The Mustangs compete next at the John Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions, hosted by Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Friday, September 15.
