SALISBURY, Md. - Stevenson women's cross country sophomore Kelly Winklbauer completed the 6k course at Winter Place Park in 23:17.33 which gave her fifth place at the Don Cathcart Invitational, hosted by Salisbury. Winklbauer's 6k time was her fastest since setting the school record (22:47) at last year's Paul Short Invitational on 10/2/15.
As a team, the Mustangs finished fifth overall with a team score of 151.
Sophomore Kayla Bias clocked a personal best with a time of 24:24.49, which placed her at 26th overall. Finishing just four seconds behind Bias was freshman Achol Odolla, who ran a personal-best time of 24:28.38, giving her 29th place.
Marissa Coombs of Virginia Wesleyan took the individual title with a time of 22:56.77, while Middle Atlantic Conference rival Messiah won the team title with 42 points. Host Salisbury finished second with 52 points.
The Mustangs run next at the Goucher Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 8.
