Winklbauer Leads Mustangs to Program-Best Finish at NCAA Mideast Regionals

NEWVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson women's cross country freshman Kelly Winklbauer ran a team-best 6k time of 23:23 in leading the Mustangs to a 22nd place finish out of 50 schools at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals, hosted by Dickinson. This was the program's highest finish at an NCAA Regional.

Winklbauer finished 45th overall and also earned Freshman All-Region honors for placing third amongst the freshman runners.

Freshman Kayla Bias ran a personal-best time of 24:58 to close out her first collegiate season, while senior Lanie Swanhart finished her career with a 6k time of 25:56.40.

Finishing just one-tenth of a second behind Swanhart was junior Claudia Lohr, who crossed the line with a career-best 6k time of 25:56.50.

Freshman Maria Beleos ran a personal-best time of 26:20 to round out the team score for Stevenson.

Freshmen Mary Sam and Sarah McKee finished up the season with career-best times of 26:28 and 27:23, respectively.

Sophia Meehan of Hopkins took the individual title with a time of 21:46, while her school took the team title with a combined score of 33.
