GLASSBORO, N.J. – The 25th-ranked Stevenson University women's volleyball team downed Stockton University 3-1 and Rowan University 3-0 in a quad match hosted by Rowan at Esby Gym Saturday evening. With the wins, the Mustangs (27-1) extend their win streak to 15 matches, the third-longest win streak in Division III.
Against the Ospreys (19-9), the Mustangs prevailed 25-27, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, while against the Profs (11-16), Stevenson won 25-16, 25-23, 25-18.
In the opening match, sophomore Katie Leftridge recorded 13 kills, 12 digs and four blocks, while senior Annika Schwartz posted 11 kills and 12 digs. Senior Lauren Weaver added nine kills, while junior Chelsea Ireland registered nine kills on .692 hitting with zero errors on 13 attempts. She also had four blocks. Junior Moriah Savage chipped in with seven kills.
Stevenson hit .235 as a squad in the opener and recorded 10 blocks while limiting Stockton to .098 hitting.
A total of 16 players saw action against Rowan, with Schwartz hitting .462 and recording 14 kills. She also added 12 digs. Leftridge and Savage each notched seven kills, with Leftridge also hit .462. Senior Megan Hren notched 11 digs, with Bradbury recording eight. Nightwine tallied 22 assists, while Dangel finished with 19.
Stevenson hit .462 in the first set and .269 for the match while holding Rowan to -.042 hitting in the opening frame and .106 for the contest.
Stevenson returns to action Tuesday night when it hosts Alvernia University in a 7:00 MAC Commonwealth contest at Owings Mills Gymnasium for Senior Night.
