Panek Sets School Record in 400m Hurdles at Morgan State Legacy Meet

BALTIMORE, Md. - Sophomore Rachel Panek broke her own school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.42 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. Panek, who finished eighth overall out of 19 Division I, II and III athletes, currently has the top performance in the MAC and second-best time in the Mideast region.

Panek also clocked a 15.88 in the 100m hurdles to take 16th overall.

Junior Kimberly Hammond turned in a time of 13.03 in the 100, giving her 19th out of 38 athletes. Hammond also clocked a personal-best time of 1:01.86 in the 400. 

Freshman Ashlynne Raby ran a 26.83 in the 200, while junior Jaleah Sydnor ran a 27.00 in the event. In the 400, Raby and Sydnor finished with times of 1:00.99 and 1:01.49.

The Mustangs compete next at the Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, starting on Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27.
