Women's Track Wins 4x100 at ECAC's, Sets New School Record

WESTFIELD, Ma. - The 4x100 relay team of freshmen Cierra Roberts, Dyonne Hicks, Kimberly Hammond and Chalisse Lockley took first overall and set a new school record with a time of 48.13 seconds at the ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Westfield State University. 

The Mustangs set a new school record for team points (59) and highest finish (4th) at an ECAC Outdoor Championship meet.

Roberts would also take fifth in the long jump with a top leap of 5.16m, while Hicks finished sixth with a 5.10. 

In the 200, Roberts picked up a seventh-place finish with a school-record time of 25.60. Hicks finished fifth in the 400m hurdles with a 1:06.88. 

Freshman Danika Ani placed third in the shot put with a top toss of 13.05m, while sophomore Jess Rega took fourth with a 12.77.

Ani would also pick up a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 38.25 meters. Freshman Kiarra Nowell finished sixth with a 34.92. 

Sophomore Kelly Winklbauer clocked a 4:56.43 in the 1500.

Misericordia won the team title with 101 points. 

Ani, who is currently ranked eighth nationally in the shot put (14.10m), will look to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union. The championships begin on Thursday, May 25 and run through Saturday, May 27.
