Rega Takes Fourth In Shot Put on Opening Night of Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Jess Rega had a top throw of 13.05 meters in the shot put, which gave her fourth-place overall out of 26 Divison I, II and III athletes on opening night of the Bison Open & Multi meet, hosted by Bucknell. Rega is currently the top qualifier for the AARTFC Indoor Championships (All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference) and is ranked second in the Mideast region. Rega's performance is also 10th best in all of Division III.

Junior Kimberly Hammond clocked a season-best time of 27.22 in the 200 meter dash, giving her 21st overall out of 80 athletes. Freshman Ashlynne Raby crossed the line with a personal-best time of 27.61.

Freshman Mikhayla Sabo ran a 19:55.34 in her 5000m debut.

The second and final day of the meet takes place on Saturday, January 26, with the first event starting at 10 a.m.
