Mentzer Picks Up Second-Straight Singles Victory in 7-2 Setback to FDU-Florham

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Stevenson women's tennis freshman Kelsi Mentzer picked up her second win in as many days as the Mustangs fell to FDU-Florham by a 7-2 margin. Mentzer won her No. 3 singles match in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. 

Mentzer and freshman Jenna Skove picked up the other win for Stevenson (2-6) in an 8-2 triumph in No. 1 doubles. 

Skove took the first set of her No. 1 singles match, but would eventually fall in three sets by a 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 margin. Sophomore Kirstyn Davidson overcame a one-set deficit in No. 2 singles, but would drop the third set in a 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 setback. 

Davidson and sophomore Christina Endy picked up four games in their No. 2 doubles defeat. 

The Mustangs return home to take on non-conference opponent Penn State Harrisburg at the Greenspring Tennis Courts on Friday, March 24 at 3:30 pm.
