Davidson, Endy Lead Mustangs to 6-3 Win Over Marietta at PTR Spring TennisFest

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its second win of the season with a 6-3 victory over Marietta College (Ohio) at the PTR Spring TennisFest. Sophomores Christina Endy and Kirstyn Davidson won their second-straight No. 2 doubles match in thrilling fashion, 9-7. 

In No. 4 singles, Endy picked up her third win of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph. After winning a hard-fought first set, Davidson would go on to take her No. 2 singles match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. 

Freshman Kelsi Mentzer picked up her first collegiate victory with a 6-0, 6-4 win in No. 3 singles. Junior Emily Herzog won her first match of the season with an impressive 6-2, 6-1 triumph in No. 6 singles. 

Freshman Nina Bretz overcame a one-set deficit to win her No. 5 singles match 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5). 

The Mustangs compete next against FDU-Florham on Saturday, March 18 at 8:00 am.
