Milam Takes Gold in 200 IM at MAC Championship, Mustangs Sit Fourth

YORK, Pa. - Stevenson junior Melanie Milam took first place in the 200-yard individual medley on day two of the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Swimming Championship Friday at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Milam posted a program record and personal-best time of 2:07.67 to best Messiah's Kaylee Hollenbach by 1.5 seconds.  She bested her own program record set at the 2017 MAC Championship of 2:08.73.  It also marks Milam's second individual conference championship, as she took home gold in the 200 yard backstroke as a freshman in 2017.

Senior Isabelle Ramsland placed seventh in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.00, establishing a program record.  In the preliminaries, Ramsland swam a 5:18.57.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Milam, Colby Stein, Juliana Burnett and Natalie Wasicko placed sixth with a time of 1:41.72.

Burnett and Stein also competed in the 50 freestyle B final.  Burnett took 12th overall (25.29 seconds) while Stein placed 15th (25.59).  

Through two days of action, the Mustangs sit fourth overall with 129 points.
