Burnett, Ramsland and Stein Lead Women's Swimming to 143-69 Win Over Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Seniors Julianna Burnett, Isabelle Ramsland and Colby Stein combined for seven individual victories in leading the Stevenson women's swimming team to 143-69 dual meet win over host Gallaudet.

To kick off the meet, senior Natalie Wasicko, Burnett, Ramsland and junior Melanie Milam touched the wall first in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:02.85, winning the race by over 38 seconds. 

Burnett picked up the first of her three wins in the 50 Freestyle, where she swam a 26.75. Burnett would then take the 200 Breaststroke by 55.5 seconds with a time of 2:37.50. In the 200-Yard Individual Medley, Burnett would win the race over Stein with a time of 2:23.01. Stein took second in the race with a 2:29.17.

Ramsland clocked a 2:24.70 en route to her 200-Yard Butterfly triumph. She would also take first in the 100 Fly with a 1:04.90.

Stein would pick up two individual victories as well. The first win came in the 200 Free where she touched the wall 2:09.61. Her other victory came in the 200 Backstroke where she just beat out junior Melanie Milam by .11 seconds with a time of 2:19.51. 

Junior Bailey Hurt notched a win in the 100 Backstroke with a 1:08.12, while Milam took first in the 100 Breaststroke with a 1:15.17.

Freshman Emily Wolff would win the 100 Free with a 1:00.81. 

Wolff, Milam, Ramsland and Hurt closed out the meet with a 4:03.31 in the 400-Yard Free Relay to take first overall. 

The Mustangs compete next in their final tune-up before the MAC Championships, when they host Arcadia on Senior day. The meet takes place at the McDonogh School on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m.
