Women's Swimming Takes Down Hood in Dual Meet, 90-87

FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson women's swimming team picked up its first dual meet victory on the season with a 90-87 triumph over host Hood.

Junior Melanie Milam started things off for the Mustangs with a first-place finish in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:47.34. Milam would later pick up another win in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 26.37 seconds, while freshman Zoe Pflieger finished second with a 27.77. Milam would also finish second in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a 1:05.31. 

Senior Julianna Burnett touched the wall first in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:23.77, while senior Colby Stein took second in the event with a 2:27.06. Burnett would also finish second in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Free with times of 1:11.19 and 58.38. Stein would later take first in the 100 Backstroke with a 1:03.29. 

Senior Isabelle Ramsland clocked a 1:03.83 to take second in the 100 Yard Butterfly, while senior Natalie Wasicko placed second in the 200 Free with a 2:16.36. 

Stein, Wasicko, Ramsland and freshman Emily Wolff were the lone team to compete in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and would finish with a combined time of 1:49.23. 

The Mustangs will host their first meet of the season when they take on Lycoming at the McDonogh School on Saturday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m.
