Colby Rhea is entering her first season as a graduate assistant with the Stevenson women’s lacrosse program in 2016.
Rhea is a 2013 graduate of the University of Florida where she was a member of the inaugural recruiting class for women’s lacrosse. She earned her bachelors degree in family, youth and community sciences at UF.
During her time at Florida, Rhea appeared in 62 games and totaled 44 goals and six assists for 50 points. In the program’s first game in 2010 against Jacksonville, Rhea finished with three goals and three ground balls, and she ranked among the program scoring leaders in her first two seasons. Over her final two seasons, she saw action in 25 games despite battling injuries. Rhea was a four-time conference Academic Honor Roll member, including the SEC Academic Honor Roll in each of her final three seasons.
Prior to Florida, Rhea was a four-year varsity player at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills. She led her team to the IAAM “A” conference championship for the first time in school history in her senior year. Rhea was named an Under Armour All-American in her senior year and an Under Armour underclassmen in 2008. In 2009 she was ranked by Sports Illustrated as one of the top 100 girls high school lacrosse players in the country.
A multi-time All-Metro and All-Baltimore County selection, Rhea also played for the Skywalkers club team coached by former Stevenson coach and current athletics administrative coordinator M.C. McFadden. She also played soccer at McDonogh and was a First Team All-State performer in addition to participating in the Maryland Olympic Development Program (ODP).
Rhea has been coaching for Skywalkers for five years and prior to Stevenson spent two years coaching at Patterson Mill High School in Bel Air, Md.
She is pursuing her masters degree in health care management.
