GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Stevenson women's lacrosse team was one of 145 Division III institutions to be named to the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads while the Mustangs had six student-athletes named to the IWLCA/Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.
A total of 310 programs across Division I, II, III and NAIA were honored. All teams who finished with a team cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher earned the Honor Squad. Stevenson was also one of eight schools in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) to earn the honor.
In addition, a total of 535 student-athletes across 160 institutions were named to the Academic Honor Roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or greater.
The six Mustangs named to the Honor Roll were seniors Brady Heher and Rachael Akshar and juniors Jamie Bittner, Hana Tankersley, MaryKate White and Lauren McDevitt. The group is a part of the 23 student-athletes from the MAC Commonwealth.
The Stevenson women's lacrosse team advanced to its fifth consecutive MAC Commonwealth title game, falling to 4th-ranked and top-seeded Messiah.
