ROCHESTER, N.Y. - A day after being named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week, Stevenson women's ice hockey senior Kellen Wittman was named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Player of the Week for her six point performance announced by the league on Tuesday.
It is the first weekly honor for the Mustangs (3-6-1, 2-3-1 UCHC) in the new conference and third career player of the week honor for Wittman.
Wittman recorded two goals and two assists in the opening 10-0 MAC and UCHC win over the Monarchs. She scored early in the first and second periods for her first goals of the season and first since January 30, 2016 after missing last season with an injury. The senior also assisted on a pair of third period goals.
In the second game, Wittman scored a third period power play goal after assisting on a power play goal in the second period. She finished with six shots in the two games and a plus-three rating.
Stevenson returns to action on Friday, December 8 when the Mustangs host a two-game non-conference series versus Buffalo State beginning at 7:00 p.m.
