ANNVILLE, Pa. - After totaling six points on three goals and three assists in a two-game conference sweep over King's, Stevenson women's ice hockey senior Kellen Wittman was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week announced by the league on Monday.
It is the second straight offensive player of the week award in the MAC for the Mustangs after senior Chelsea Blackburn earned the honor last week. It is also the second player of the week honor for Wittman in her career after being named the Colonial Hockey Conference Player of the Week on February 1, 2016.
Wittman recorded two goals and two assists in the opening 10-0 MAC and United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) win over the Monarchs. She scored early in the first and second periods for her first goals of the season and first since January 30, 2016 after missing last season with an injury. The senior also assisted on a pair of third period goals.
In the second game, Wittman scored a third period power play goal after assisting on a power play goal in the second period. She finished with six shots in the two games and a plus-three rating.
Stevenson returns to action on Friday, December 8 when the Mustangs host a two-game non-conference series versus Buffalo State beginning at 7:00 p.m.
