Gracie Shewell Named Women's Ice Hockey Graduate Assistant

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's ice hockey head coach Tracy Johnson announced that Gracie Shewell will join the Mustangs coaching staff for the 2017-18 season, serving as the team's graduate assistant. Shewell will begin her duties at the end of August.

Shewell comes from Plymouth State, where she was a four-year member of the women's ice hockey team and an assistant captain her senior year. With the Panthers, Shewell appeared in 81 career games on defense, recording 11 career points on two goals and nine assists.

As a junior, Shewell recorded a career-best five points on two goals and three assists.

Shewell served as an evaluator for the USA Hockey Southeastern District in Tampla, Fla. during the Spring of 2017. She also served as a camp counselor for the Green Mountain Development Camp in Burlington, Vt., assisting in all on-ice activies.

During her time at Plymouth State, Shewell worked as a student worker for two years, assisting in the set-up for athletic events, scoreboard assistance and statistical recording.

A native of Hanover and graduate of The Academy of the Holy Cross, Shewell earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Health from Plymouth State University in 2017.
