VanDeCar Matches Personal Best In Second Round of NCAA Championships, Mustangs 18th

HOUSTON, Texas - Sophomore Emma VanDeCar shot a 77 in the second round of the NCAA Championships, held at the Bay Oaks Country Club, matching her personal-best low score. VanDeCar is currently tied for 25th place with a two-day score of 156 (+12). The Mustangs sit at 18th in the team standings out of 25 schools with a two-round score of 670, after matching their opening round mark of 335. 

Sophomore Laura Rentz shot an 84, giving her a two-day score of 166.

Freshman Amanda Perez matched her opening round score of 85, while sophomore Elise Glauser finished the day with a 90. 

Junior Julia Kline carded an 89, a two-stroke improvement from round one. 

Nina Kouchi of Grinnell College, Ziyi Wang of Carleton College and Emily Salamy are tied for first after two rounds with total scores of five-over par. New York University leads Methodist by one stroke with a two-day total of 613 (+37).

The Mustangs open up the third round on Thursday, May 16 at 8:40 a.m.
