ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Freshman Amanda Perez matched her career-best score with a six-over par 77 to finish third overall at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational. Perez, who finished with a two-day score of +17, already has seven career top-5 finishes.
Stevenson finished third overall with a two-day score of 653, which was just four strokes back of first-place Gettysburg. The Mustangs finished the day with the lowest second round score (315), which is just three strokes back of their season best.
Sophomore Emma VanDeCar matched her season-best with a 77, giving her a two-day total of 162 (+20) and into a tie for fifth.
Junior Julia Kline carded her second-best round of the year with a 79, which placed her into a tie for eighth with a total tally of 165 (+23).
Completing Stevenson's team score was sophomore Laura Rentz, who improved on her opening round score by three strokes with an 82.
Sophomore Elise Glauser turned in rounds of 87 and 88 for the Mustangs.
Skylar Frankiewicz of host Gettysburg took the individual title with a two-round total of 153 (+11), while her school took team title by just two strokes over York (Pa.) and four over the Mustangs (+81).
The Mustangs will tee off next when they host the Stevenson Spring Invitational, held at the Piney Branch Golf Club, on Wednesday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m. This will be Stevenson's final tune-up before the MAC Championships.
