Perez Tied for Fifth After Opening Round of Gettysburg Spring Invite

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Freshman Amanda Perez carded a 10-over par 82 to finish tied for fifth after the opening round of the Gettysburg Spring Invitational, held at the Hanover Country Club. Perez's score was her lowest since shooting an 81 on October 22, 2018 at the Eastern Fall Invitational.

The Mustangs currently sit at third overall in the team standings with an opening round score of 338 (+50), with all five players finishing in the top 13. 

Sophomores Laura Rentz and Emma VanDeCar both carded rounds of 85 to finish tied for 10th on the leaderboard. VanDeCar's score was her lowest since shooting a 77 in the final round of the Greene Turtle Invitational on October 7, 2018.

Junior Julia Kline completed the team score for the Mustangs with an 86, while sophomore Elise Glauser notched an 87.

York (Pa.) leads the field with a team score of 323. Skylar Frankiewicz of Gettysburg sits atop the leaderboard after shooting a 77 (+5).

The second and final round of the tournament tees off on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 a.m.
