Women's Golf Takes Third at Alvernia Spring Invite, Kline Finishes Tied for Eighth

MOHNTON, Pa. - The Stevenson women's golf team took third overall out of eight schools with a total score of 353 at the Alvernia Spring Invitational, held at the Ledgerock Country Club. The Mustangs finished just one stroke back of second-place Alvernia.

Junior Julia Kline led the way for the Mustangs with a 12-over par 85 to finish tied for eighth overall. Kline, who matched her lowest score of the spring thus far, now has four top-10 finishes on the season. 

Freshman Amanda Perez carded an 86 on the day to finish 13th overall, while sophomore Laura Rentz notched an 89 to take 16th. Perez has shot under 90 in all but two rounds during her freshman campaign. 

Sophomore Emma VanDeCar shot a 93 to round out the team scoring for Stevenson. 

West Chester University (Div. II) finished atop the team standings with a total score of 331. Emily Gilbert of Alvernia won the individual title with a three-over par 76.

The Mustangs tee off next on Saturday, April 6 at the two-day Spartan Invitational, held at the Country Club of York.
