Rentz Tied for Second, Women's Golf Tied for First After Opening Round of McDaniel Spring Invite

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Laura Rentz carded an 82 (+10) and is currently tied for second overall after the opening round of the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational, held at The Bridges Golf Club. The Mustangs, who finished the day with a team score 344, are tied with Gettysburg for first place. Stevenson, who finished with its lowest team score this spring, had five players end the day in the top-10. 

Junior Julia Kline opened up her spring with an 85 to finish the round tied for fourth, while freshman Amanda Perez notched an 88 (7th place).

Sophomore Elise Glauser finished a stroke back of Perez and in eighth place to round out the team scoring for the Mustangs.

Sophomore Emma VanDeCar carded a 92 for Stevenson, slotting her into a tie for ninth overall. Sophomore Lauren Griffith, who played as an individual, shot a 98 on the day. 

The Mustangs will look to pick up their fifth team victory on the year when they close out the tournament on Sunday, March 31.
