Wirtz Finishes Tied for Sixth, Mustangs Third at MAC Championships

HERSHEY, Pa. - Senior Morgan Wirtz finished tied for sixth in her final collegiate tournament, while the Mustangs placed third in the team standings at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, held at the Hershey Country Club.

The Mustangs finished with a two-day score of 766 and 29 strokes back of Alvernia, who won its second MAC Championship.

Wirtz, who earned All-MAC Second Team honors, carded a 98 in her final collegiate round for a total score of 189. Wirtz ends her collegiate career with eight tournament titles, including a MAC Individual Championship in her freshman season (2014-15). Wirtz's career also includes 34 top-five and 49 career top-10 finishes. 

Freshman Laura Rentz finished tied for 10th after carding a two-day total of 192, giving her second team honors in her first MAC Championship. Freshman Emma VanDeCar finished a stroke back and 12th overall.

Freshman Elise Glauser and sophomore Julia Kline finished tied for 14th with a combined score of 195. 

Emily Gilbert of Alvernia won the individual title with a total score of 164 (+22).

Stevenson finishes its 2017-18 season with a school-record eight team titles, including four in a row over a nine-day span from April 6-14.
