Gash Shatters 8k School Record at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, PA. - Junior Langston Gash shattered his previous school record in the 8k with a time of 25:11 at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University. Gash, who surpassed his own school record by 25 seconds, finished 20th overall out of 217 runners in the men's Non-Division I Brown Race.

The Mustangs finished 15th out of 24 schools with a team score of 403, with six of the seven Stevenson runners clocking personal bests. 

Sophomore Patrick Watson set a new personal best with a time of 26:02, which gave him 76th place overall. 

Sophomore Ryan Siegel broke his career mark by 12 seconds with a 26:12, whlie junior Jackson Morrow bettered his previous best time by 68 seconds with a 26:25. 

Also setting personal records were freshman Aditya Singh and junior Brett Olin, who both finished with a time of 26:41.

Junior Sam Mercoli turned in a solid time of 27:04 for Stevenson.

Austin Cooper of Indiana University (Pa.) crossed the line first with a time of 24:35. Queen's University (Ontario, Canada) won the team title with a score of 64. 

For their next race, the Mustangs will travel across the country to compete at the Pomona-Pitzer Cross Country Invite held in Claremont, California on Saturday, October 14 at 7:45 am.
