Men's Cross Country Takes Second Place at Mustang Stampede

STEVENSON, Md. - Sophomore Patrick Watson finished 13th overall in leading the host Stevenson men's cross country team to a second place at the season-opening Mustang Stampede, held at the Greenspring Campus course. Watson clocked a 6-kilometer (3.73 miles) time of 19:53.43, which was just 24.5 seconds behind first-place Scot Pourshalchi of Johns Hopkins.

Hopkins took the team title with a score of 15 points, while the Mustangs finished with 50. 

Freshman Aditya Singh crossed the line in his first collegiate race with a solid time of 20:08.79 to take 17th overall, while freshman Sushant Dhaurali finished less than eight seconds behind Singh with a 20:16.35.  

Sophomore Iddriss Iddriss opened up his 2017 campaign with a time of 20:20.20, while sophomore Ryan Siegel rounded out the team score with a 20:26.94 and 26th-place finish.

Sam Mercoli opened up his junior season with a 6k time of 20:38.81. 

Sophomore Nikita Kulick and junior Jackson Morrow crossed the line with times of 20:52.76 and 21:02.77, respectively.

The Mustangs compete next when they host the Shannon Henretty Invitational on Friday, September 8 at 6:00 pm.
