Gash Earns First Team All-Conference Honors, Mustangs Finish Fifth at MAC Championships

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Stevenson men's cross country sophomore Langston Gash finished sixth overall with a time of 27:02.5, which earned him First Team All-MAC honors at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, hosted by Messiah. Gash's sixth place finish is the highest by any runner at the MAC Championships in program history. 

The Mustangs took fifth overall in the team standings, which is their highest finish at the MAC Championships since joining the conference in 2012. 

Sophomore Jackson Morrow clocked a 27:50.1 to finish 24th, while Ryan Siegal crossed the line just under four seconds behind Morrow with a 27:53.8 to take 25th. 

Sophomore Sam Mercoli completed the 8k course with a solid time of 28:05.4 to earn 30th place. Freshman Patrick Watson rounded out the team score for Stevenson with a 28:14.4 and 32nd place finish.

The top-five Mustang finishers were separated by just 1:11.9.

Sophomore Brett Olin finished a little over five seconds behind Watson with a 28:19.6. 

Freshmen Iddriss Iddriss and Eric Baranoski were separated by just one second with times of 28:37.5 and 28:38.5, respectively.

Freshman Nikita Kulick clocked a 28:42.1 for Stevenson. 

Ernie Pitone of Widener took the individual championship with a time of 25:31.8, while his school took the team title with a score of 82. 

The Mustangs will have a week off before heading to the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship, hosted by DeSales on Saturday, November 12.
