Gash Sets School Record, Mustangs Place Fourth at Bill Fritz Invite

GLASSBORO, N.J. - Stevenson men's cross country sophomore Langston Gash set a new school record for the 8k (4.97 miles) with a blazing time of 26:08.16, which earned him 16th place overall at the Bill Fritz Invitational, hosted by Rowan. The Mustangs finished fourth overall out of 17 teams with a team score of 131.

Freshman Ryan Siegel ran a personal-best with a time of 26:25.15, which placed him 23rd overall. Sophomore Sam Mercoli also clocked a career best with a time of 26:36.59. 

Freshman Patrick Watson crossed the line with a personal-best time of 26:45.67, while sophomore Jackson Morrow ran a career-best 27:33.40 to round out the team score for Stevenson. 

Also competing for the Mustangs was sophomore Brett Olin and freshman John Qutaroche, who clocked times of 27:35.81 and 27:51.78.

Other Stevenson runners who broke the 28-minute mark were freshmen Nikita Kulick and Iddriss Iddriss, who crossed the finish line with times of 27:56.32 and 27:57.30.

Zachary Helm of Rowan took first overall with a time of 25:02.49, while his school took the team title with a team score of 25.

The Mustangs compete next at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational, held at Big Spring High School, on Saturday, October 1.
