Grossnickle returns for his second season as the head men's volleyball coach at Stevenson in 2016. He spent the previous four as an assistant coach for the Mustangs.
Last season, Grossnickle led the Mustangs to their third ECAC Division III Championship in the last five years after guiding the team to its second-straight CVC Championship game. Senior David Moler was named to the Continental Volleyball Conference All-Conference Team while six players were named to the CVC Academic All-Conference Team.
From 2010-14, Grossnickle helped lead the Mustangs to 94 wins, a .696 winning percentage, four-straight 20-win seasons and the program's first-ever national ranking. Stevenson also won the ECAC Division III South championship in 2011 and 2013.
Grossnickle is a 2009 graduate of Stevenson with a bachelor of science degree in business communication. He was a four-year starter and two-year team captain. He is ranked third in school history in digs (799), fifth in games played (382) and 10th in service aces (45). He also received the Fighting Heart Award honoring a student-athlete who has overcome the odds and showed perseverance in their life, on or off the field.
As a senior, Grossnickle helped the Mustangs to the title game of the 2009 ECAC Division III South Championship and the first 20-win season in school history as the team went 20-13. He led the team with 285 digs, a mark that ranks third all-time in school history. Also that year, Stevenson led the nation in digs per game.
Off the court, Grossnickle has worked for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore since 2010. He currently lives in Perry Hall.
