ANNVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson men's volleyball junior Landon Shorts was selected as the Middle Athletic Conference men's volleyball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week announced on Monday by the league office.
In the Mustangs three games this week he totaled 32 kills, 21 aces, 20 digs and 55.5 points. On Thursday, in a 3-1 win over conference foe Misericordia, he racked up 10 kills hitting .364 and a career-best 12 aces. He was also strong on the defensive side of the court picking up seven digs and two blocks. In a 3-1 victory over Division I opponent Harvard he finished with 13 kills on a .303 attack percentage, nine digs, six aces and two blocks. On Friday in a loss to No. 1 Springfield the junior contributed eight kills, four digs, and three more aces.
Stevenson is back in action this week with three more matches. First, on Wednesday they host Alvernia at 7pm in conference play. Then on Saturday conference foe Widener and non-conference opponent Hunter come to Owings Mills Gym for a tri-match beginning at 2pm.
