Austin Jacoby Named CVC Player of the Week, Third Mustang to be Honored
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Stevenson men's volleyball junior Austin Jacoby (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) was named CVC Player of the Week on Thursday, earning his first weekly honor. He is the Mustangs' fifth selection in two seasons in the CVC and the third this year.
Sophomore David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) was also named player of the week on February 15 while sophomore Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York) was selected on February 4. Wisner also earning the honor on Mar. 15, 2012 while junior Eddy Klepper (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was selected CVC Player of the Week on Mar. 31, 2012.
Jacoby was named to the All-Tournament First Team at the Baruch Invitational last weekend, leading the Mustangs to a 3-1 record with victories over Emmanuel, No. 10 River and No. 11 Elmira before falling to No. 15 MIT in five sets.
Jacoby totaled 63 kills and a .362 hitting percentage in four games and 16 sets, averaging 3.94 kills per set. He also had 29 digs, six block assists and four service aces. He had a season-high 19 kills versus Rivier and MIT. He also had eight kills against both.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday with two games at Juniata against Hilbert and No. 6 Stevens.
