Mustangs Turn In Solid Performances at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Stevenson men's track and field team turned in solid performances in each of their two events at the Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field.

In the Distance Medley Relay, senior Langston Gash, sophomore Ritchie Case, junior Iddriss Iddriss and junior Patrick Watson finished with a combined time of 10:11.08, establishing a new school mark in the event (program's first outdoor DMR). The Mustangs, who finished 13th out 19 Division I, II and III schools, had the best time among non-Divison I squads.

In the Pop Haddleton MAC 4x400m relay, Case, sophomore Sean Dodson, Watson and Iddriss took sixth overall with a time of 3:25.60. The Mustangs finished just .01 seconds behind fourth-place Elizabethtown. With the result, Stevenson now has the fourth-fastest time in the MAC this season.

Stevenson competes next at the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Widener, starting on Thursday, May 2 through Saturday, May 4. The Mustangs, who are ranked third in this week's USTFCCCA Mideast Region rankings, have been picked to repeat as outdoor champions in the latest pre-championship coaches poll.
