WESTFIELD, Ma. - The 4x100m relay team of sophomores Tylor Bailey, Morgan Cheatham, Malcolm Hayward and Matt Riggins took first overall with a combined time of 42.13 seconds at the ECAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Westfield State University. The Mustangs set school records for the most team points (57) and highest team finish (2nd) in an ECAC Championship meet.
Freshman Sid Yap broke his own school record and finished fourth overall in the discus throw with a top toss of 42.50 meters.
Sophomore Tevin Bailey set a new outdoor school record in the high jump with a top height of 1.99 meters, which gave him fifth place.
Sophomore Cooper Smelski finished with 4104 points in the decathlon, which was highlighted by first-place finishes in the pole vault (3.70m) and the 1500 (5:28.96).
Farmingdale St. took first overall in the team standings with 85 points.
Senior Devonte Williams, who is currently ranked second in the 100 (10.43) and eighth in the 200 (21.33), will be looking to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union. The championships begin on Thursday, May 25 and run through Saturday, May 27.
