Gash Places Second in 5000m at Widener Invitational, Sets New School Record

CHESTER, Pa. - Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Langston Gash shattered his previous school record in the 5000m run by over 10 seconds with a blazing time of 14:54.16 on the first day of the Widener Invitational. Gash placed second overall out of 102 athletes. 

Also competing in the 5000 was sophomore Sam Mercoli who clocked a 15:38.45. Sophomore Brett Olin and freshman Ryan Siegal ran personal-best times of 15:38.51 and 15:46.68.

Sophomore Jackson Morrow clocked a personal-record time of 34:21.20 in the 10,000m run, which gave him 12th overall. Freshman Patrick Watson ran a 34:42.68.

The second and final day of the meet takes place on Saturday, April 22.
