ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Devonte Williams of the Stevenson University men's outdoor track and field team was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Williams took first place in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events at Friday's Hopkins Invitational. He won the 100 with a time of 10.73 seconds, currently the top time in the conference and No. 14 in Division III this season. Williams finished first in the 200 with a 21.66 second effort, a time that ranks ninth nationally and first in the conference in 2017. He followed that up by being a part of the winning 4x100 relay team at Saturday's Towson Invitational. The group posted a school-record time of 41.69 seconds, currently the 10th-best relay time in the country.
Williams is the reigning MAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and also claimed the same honor at this winter's conference indoor meet.
Stevenson returns to action this weekend at the Morgan State Legacy meet.
