Belser, Distance Medley Relay Shine on Day One of Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Kendall Belser placed third overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.73 seconds, giving him third-place overall in a field of 54 Division I, II and III athletes on opening night of the Bison Open & Multi meet, hosted by Bucknell. Belser currently has the seventh-fastest time (22.36) among AARTFC (All Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference) qualifiers and fifth-fastest time in the Mideast region. Sophomore Dereck Davis placed sixth in the event with a season-best time of 22.83. 

Seniors Langston Gash, Vladhimir Theophile and juniors Iddriss Iddriss and Patrick Watson combined for a time of 10:34.71 in the Distance Medley Relay, giving them second overall out of seven teams. Their time was good enough to qualify for the AARTFC Indoor Championships and is currently the third-fastest in the region and fifth fastest in Division III.

The Mustangs also had competitors in the 5000 and Heptathlon, but results were unavailable at the time of publication.

The second and final day of the meet starts on Saturday, January 26 at 10 a.m.
