Dimeon Wright Qualifies for NCAA Indoor Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – Dimeon Wright, a freshman on the Stevenson University men's indoor track and field team, has qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship in the long jump, it was announced Monday morning.  Wright becomes the first male Mustang field athlete to qualify for nationals.

Wright posted a leap of 7.13 meters at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) indoor championship to qualify as the No. 15 seed in the field.  He finished second in the event at the conference meet as he helped Stevenson capture its first conference title.  Wright is one of three freshmen in the 15-athlete field.

Wright is the second overall qualifier for the NCAA indoor championship in men's track and field.  Devonte Williams competed last season in the 60 and 200-meter dashes.

The 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship takes place March 9-10 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.  The long jump competition is set for Friday, March 9 at 11:00 am.
