Vaughan Picks Up Lone Victory in Senior Day Defeat to Harford CC

STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team dropped its senior day match to visiting Harford Community College by an 8-1 score. Senior Douglas Vaughan picked up the lone win for the Mustangs.

Since the Mustangs were playing a two-year school, the results and statistics do not count in this match. 

Juniors Ray McDermott and Drew Ryan dropped their match by an 8-2 score in No. 1 doubles, while seniors Wornden Ly and Douglas Vaughan dropped their match by the same score. McDermott and Ryan finished up the regular season with 10 wins. Ly and Vaughan finished with a 15-2 record. 

Senior Peter Appiah Jr. and freshman Lukas Sanidas fought hard, but would drop their No. 3 match by an 8-7 (10-4) margin. 

Vaughan picked up Stevenson's lone victory in No. 4 singles, where he took down his opponent by an 8-6 score. Vaughan ends the year with a singles mark of 13-5. 

Ly dropped a tough match in No. 5, 8-6. Ly ends his regular season at 9-4. 

The Mustangs (14-2, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth) will compete as the top seed in their MAC Commonwealth Semifinal match against visiting Arcadia on Tuesday, April 30. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Greenspring Courts.
