Men's Tennis Wins MAC Commonwealth Opener Over Lycoming, 7-2

STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team won its MAC Commonwealth opener against Lycoming by a 7-2 score at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.Senior Bryan Gieselman won his fifth straight No. 1 singles match, 6-3, 6-1.

Gieselman also teamed up with junior Wornden Ly to pick up a 8-1 victory in No. 1 doubles. 

Sophomore Peter Appiah Jr. and junior Mike Richmond won tough match in No. 2 doubles, 9-7. Richmond would later pick up a 6-4, 6-0 win in No. 5 singles. 

Sophomore Douglas Vaughan and junior Robbie Koons were dominant in their 8-1 No. 3 doubles triumph. Vaughan would then go on to win his No. 3 singles match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.  

Senior Kevin Slujtner won his No. 6 singles match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. The win was Slujtner's second of the season. 

The Mustangs (2-8, 1-0) continue their Commonwealth schedule in a home match against Messiah on Wednesday, April 5 at 3:30 pm.
