Ted Cooke Named to Men's Tennis All-CAC Second Team
YORK, Pa. - For the first time in the three years since the Stevenson men's tennis team joined the CAC prior to the 2007-08 season, the Mustangs had a player named to the all-conference team as sophomore Ted Cooke (Snow Hill/Snow Hill) was named to the All-CAC Second Team on Friday.
Cooke is the first player to be named all-conference since the Mustangs had six players named to the All-NEAC teams in 2007, including third-year head coach Jason Cohen '07.
With seven wins, Cooke leads the team for the second-straight season at No. 1 singles and went 4-1 against CAC competition with his only loss coming to Henry Stuhler of No. 21 Salisbury on March 28. He also defeated Hood's Carter Reitman in the first round of the CAC Men's Tennis Championship.
Cooke won six consecutive matches from April 3-18, including the first five in straight sets.
In two seasons, Cooke has totaled 14 wins, 11 of which have come at No. 1 singles while posting another 11 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Stevenson concludes its 2009-10 season at local rival Goucher on Friday.
