Cather Leads Mustangs on Final Day of Diamond City Invitational

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Stevenson men's swimming junior Zachery Cather led the way for the Mustangs on the final day of the Diamond City Invitational, held at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center. Stevenson finished 10th overall in the team standings.

Cather took ninth overall in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a 2:14.22, which gave the Mustangs nine points in the team standings. 

In the 100 Yard Freestyle, freshman Jaq De Leon clocked a personal-best time of 51.70, which earned him 15th place out of 49 swimmers.

Freshman Benjamin Reitz swam a personal best in the 200 Breaststroke with a 2:48.61. 

To close out the meet, Cather, De Leon, Reitz and freshman Stephen Kratzer clocked a 3:31.92 in the 400 Freestyle Relay, which gave them eighth overall in the event.  

Arcadia took the team title with 705 points.

The Mustangs compete next when they host Lebanon Valley in a dual meet at the McDonogh School on Saturday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m.
