Sears Finishes Third in 200 Yard Breaststroke at MAC Championships

YORK, Pa. - Stevenson men's swimming freshman Andrew Sears took third place overall in the 200 Yard Breaststroke on the final day of the MAC Championships held at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Sears qualified for the finals of the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a school record-time of 2:09.97. In the finals, Sears improved on that time by over a second with a 2:08.59 to earn a third place medal and a spot on the All-MAC First Team. The third place finish by Sears is now the highest finish by a swimmer in the MAC Championships in program history.

Sophomore Zachery Cather finished 12th in the 200 Yard Butterfly prelims with a time of 2:07.11. He then went on to improve on that time in the finals with a 2:06.29 to take 11th overall.

The 400 Yard Relay team of Sears, Cather, and freshmen Juwaun Hatton and Michael Lutz swam for a school record time of 3:27.07.

Widener went on to win the conference title with 530 points. The Mustangs finished 11th overall with 101 points.
