Derrick Brewer Named Men's Soccer Graduate Assistant

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer head coach Graeme Millar announced that Derrick Brewer will join the Mustangs coaching staff for the 2017 season, serving as the team's graduate assistant. Brewer will begin his duties at the end of August.

Brewer was a four-year member of MAC Commonwealth rival Arcadia's men's soccer team from 2012-15. He appeared in 62 career games on defense, including 58 starts. He recorded four assists from the back line, including a career-best three as a senior.

A three-time all-conference selection, Brewer was a second team honoree as a senior and sophomore and a honorable mention selection as a junior. In 2015, he was named as the NSAC All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year.

Brewer has served as a coach and trainer for the Coerver United Soccer Academy since 2014, where he is responsible for coordinating daily schedules to improve youth soccer skills as well as instill soccer IQ.

From 2016-17, Brewer was the Director of Coaching Pennsylvania where he was responsible for all operations of team training, individual performance academies and summer camps.

Brewer's brother Josh was a four-year defender for the Mustangs from 2009-12.

A 2016 graduate of Arcadia, Brewer earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
