Otto Named ECAC South Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer freshman Ansger Otto (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) received his second rookie of the year honor on Wednesday as he was named ECAC Division III South Rookie of the Year.
Otto was one of 23 players honored by the ECAC, including one of two from the CAC as Salisbury senior Kyle Sterling was named to the first team.
Carnegie Mellon senior Ricky Griffin was named Offensive Player of the Year after totaling 47 points on 19 goals and nine assists. Eight of his goals were game-winners. He was also named University Athletic Association Player of the Year for the second-straight season.
Neumann junior Zach Sell was named Defensive Player of the Year and totaled seven goals and four assists for 18 points. He was named Colonial States Athletic Conference Player of the Year and selected to the All-CSAC First Team for the second consecutive season.
Both Griffin and Sell were named to the ECAC South first team.
The CAC Rookie of the Year, Otto was the only player not to be named to the first or second team despite earning ECAC rookie of the year honors. He was also named All-CAC First Team and finished his first season with a team-high nine goals and 22 points while finishing second in assists with four.
Stevenson advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC Division III South Championship, finishing the season with a 12-10-1 record. It's 12 wins were one shy of the school record set in 2005 and it was the team's first 10-win season since 2006.
