BOSTON – Former Stevenson University men's lacrosse standout Michael Simon was recently selected to compete in his third Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game. The 2017 edition of the game will take place on Saturday, July 8 at Papa Murphy's Park in Sacramento, California and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
Simon, a member of the Denver Outlaws, was first selected to the MLL All-Star Game in 2014 and was selected again last season. He is one of seven players selected to the game from the Outlaws.
One of nine players to appear in all eight games this season for the defending MLL champion Outlaws, Simon has picked up 16 ground balls and has five caused turnovers on the season. He also recorded a two-point goal and an assist in an 11-7 win over Charlotte on May 7.
Simon has appeared in a total of 61 games in his Major League Lacrosse career, including 49 over the last four seasons with Denver. He has totaled 117 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and has eight goals, including three two-point goals, and five assists for 16 points.
