ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Kyle D'Onofrio of the Stevenson University men's lacrosse program was named to the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) team for men's lacrosse on Wednesday. It marks the second straight season D'Onofrio has been selected to the 12-player squad.
To be eligible for the MAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must post a 3.20 term GPA during the semester of their championship season. Voting for the award is based on 50% academic excellence and 50% athletic prowess by the athletic communications professionals at the MAC's 17 institutions.
D'Onofrio was an IMLCA First Team All-America and USILA Second Team All-America selection this season and played in the North/South Game. A First Team ECAC All-Star and a MAC Commonwealth First Team All-Conference selection for the Mustangs, D'Onofrio recorded 50 goals and 24 assists in 20 games in 2017 out of the midfield, while also picking up 51 ground balls. He had at least one goal in every game this season and had 13 multi-goal games on the season. He wrapped up his four-year career at Stevenson with 107 goals and 51 assists for 158 points.
The Stevenson men's lacrosse team finished 14-6 overall and ranked No. 13 USILA Division III poll. The Mustangs won their fifth consecutive MAC Commonwealth championship and made their ninth straight NCAA tournament appearance.
