Men's Lacrosse to Host Alumni Game Thursday Night

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson men's lacrosse team will hold its annual alumni game on Thursday, February 4 beginning at 6:30 p.m., on the turf field at Caves Athletics Complex on the Owings Mills campus. The event is free and open to the public and fans are encouraged to attend.
Among the alumni scheduled to appear are current assistant coaches Chris Baldwin, Greg Furshman, Mike Simon and Brett Yoder as well as 2009 alum, Nic Bevacqua.
All five were instrumental in the Mustangs' record setting season a year ago in which the team won a school record 17 games, advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship and finished the year ranked at No. 1 in the final USILA Division III poll.
Other alumni interested in playing Thursday night should contact assistant coach Brian Davies.
The alumni will take on this year's Stevenson team who has been ranked at No. 2 in the country by both Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse Magazine. The Mustangs were picked by Inside Lacrosse to win the CAC championship this season while senior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) was selected as the Player of the Year by both.
Also returning are junior All-Americans Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill) and Richie Ford (Baltimore/Towson) as well as junior Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) who was selected as preseason All-American along with Kazimer, Dailey and Ford by Inside Lacrosse.
Stevenson opens the season in just 17 days at Widener on Saturday, February 20 before hosting Kean in its home opener on Saturday, February 27.
