MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the second time in program history, the Stevenson men's ice hockey team has been mentioned amongst the nation's elite after receiving six votes in the latest USCHO.com Top 15 Poll release on Monday.
The Mustangs have started the season unbeaten and have won four straight games after a season opening tie. The team is outscoring its opponents, 21-5 and is currently in first place in both the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC).
Stevenson currently ranks tied for first in Division III in scoring defense (1.0), first in penalty kill (30-31, 96.8%), third in power play (12-38, 31.6%) and ninth in scoring offense (4.2).
Senior Jordan Watt ranks tied for first in the nation with 2.0 points per game while classmate Mike Davis ranks tied for fourth with 1.2 goals per game. Meanwhile, Watt and sophomore Dominic Brenza rank tied for fifth and tied for 10th in assists per game, respectively. In net, senior Jacob Caffrey second with a .961 save percentage and fourth with a 1.02 goals against average.
Stevenson returns to action on Friday, November 17 when the Mustangs host a UCHC contest versus Elmira beginning at 7:00 p.m.
