ROCHESTER, N.Y. - After completing its inaugural season in the ECAC West a season ago, the Stevenson men's ice hockey team was picked to finish third in the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) announced by the league on Wednesday.
The Mustangs, who finished 10-14-2 in their inaugural season under head coach Dominick Dawes, received 52 points.
Utica was picked to win the conference after receiving 80 points and eight of the nine first place votes. Manhattanville received the other first place vote and 73 points to round out the top two.
Three points behind Stevenson, Elmira was picked to finish fourth while Nazareth was picked to finish fifth. Rounding out the final four teams is Neumann in sixth place, followed by Lebanon Valley, King's (Pa.) and Chatham.
Stevenson opens its 2017-18 season on Saturday, October 28 at Morrisville State beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Mustangs open conference play on Friday, November 3 when the team hosts Lebanon Valley.
