CARLISLE, Pa. - Freshman Shane Angle carded a two-over par 74 in leading the Stevenson men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Dickinson Fall Invitational, held at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course. Angle, who finished tied for 10th overall, has shot in the 70's in each of his first two collegiate rounds.
The Mustangs finished sixth in the team standings out of 13 schools with a combined score of 307.
Junior Evan Welsh kicked off his season with a five-over par 77, which is the second lowest score of his career.
Junior Johnny Messina and graduate student Matthew Rentz both shot rounds of 78 to complete the team score for Stevenson. Rentz's score matches his lowest from last season.
Freshman Mike Festa shot a seven-over par 79 to begin his collegiate career.
Danny Harcourt of Gettysburg fired a four-under par 68 to take the individual title, while his school won the team championship at even par (288).
Stevenson tees off next at the Tom Kinder Memorial, held at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va. on Monday, September 17.
