OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University field hockey team opens its 17-game 2017 schedule on Friday, September 1 when it hosts McDaniel College in a 7:00 contest at Mustang Stadium, the first of nine home games for the Mustangs this season.
Stevenson plays four of its first five games at home, hosting St. Mary's (Md.) September 3, Washington (Md.) on September 9 and Goucher on September 14. Sandwiched in between is a date at Salisbury on September 6. The Sea Gulls finished last season ranked No. 2 nationally and reached the NCAA semifinals.
The Mustangs play their MAC Commonwealth opener at Albright on September 23, with the home conference opener set for September 30 at 7 pm against Arcadia.
After opening October with a non-conference trip to York (Pa.) on October 4, the Mustangs welcome defending NCAA national champion Messiah for a 7:00 contest on Saturday, October 7. Stevenson also hosts Lynchburg (October 10), Lebanon Valley (October 18) and Alvernia (October 21) before closing out the regular season at Hood on October 26.
The four-team MAC Commonwealth Championship begins with the semifinal round on Wednesday, November 1, with the title game set for Saturday, November 4.
